Lost Lead Calculator

Estimate the revenue exposure sitting in unanswered phone calls. This is not a promise that every missed call would have become a customer; it is a transparent scenario model you can adjust to your own call quality, close rate and job value.

Formula

How the estimate works

Monthly calls × missed-call rate × qualified-lead rate × close rate × average job value = estimated monthly revenue exposure if those qualified missed callers are not recovered.

Example: 200 calls × 25% missed × 60% qualified × 30% close × $500 = $4,500/month in revenue exposure. That does not mean software will recover $4,500. Some callers will call back, some leads will be poor, and recovery tools will convert only part of the opportunity.

How to make the model less speculative

  • Export one to three months of inbound calls and calculate your actual unanswered rate.
  • Use CRM data to estimate what share of phone enquiries are real prospects rather than spam, vendors or existing-customer service calls.
  • Use the close rate for phone leads—not the company-wide close rate.
  • Use gross sale/job value only if that is the decision metric you care about; for profitability, substitute contribution margin.

Important: This calculator is an estimate for planning, not a forecast or guarantee. It intentionally avoids unsupported claims such as “X% of missed callers never call back.” Your own phone and CRM data is the best input.
